Green River Lake In Pinedale,Wyoming Colorado River is alluded to as "Warm  Waters" because Colorado river waters used to be RED Spanish explorers named the river "Rio Colorado" which means colored river. The river was red because of the red silt or soil and mud that it carried down from the mountains Green River becomes the major tributary of Colorado river as it forks at Canyonlands National Park,Utah . Green River Lakes halt at the northern most entrance of Wind River Range. So that's where warm waters halt.
